Flat Track
Scotty Parker and Chris Carr were awesome. The Harley team dominated the track. Until Kenny Roberts showed up on a Yamaha triple and Bubba Shobert on a Honda. I remember George Roder the flying farmer,Bart Markel and Mert Lawell, Gary Nixon on a Triumph..The racing in the late 60's was fantastic.. Today's racing is great too, but would like to see Harley battle Indian more closely.. Time will tell.

They are offering the new race bike for ~$38K to try and compete in the new Production Twins class as they have tried for four seasons to run with the Indian in the pro class but have not even come close. That's with full factory sponsor ship and about a 4 million dollar investment from HD! Last season V&H was allowed by AMA to run the engine size up to 1000 cc's and still could not do anything with the Indian's! So now HD has given the building of the new XG750 production race bike to V&H Motorsports. I do not expect much of the people to buy one, but we will see. You can pickup Streets for the 4 - 5 K range out there, so that leaves you about $33K left to invest in it and race it versus buy a bike from them. That's a much better deal for a privateer, which is what the class is supposed to be all about.
