They're not called "stealers" for nothing
Just picked up my bike from the stealer yesterday after having it's PM. My dealer has a set price of $170 for this service. When I went topay, the price was $220. What???, "Oh, parts are extra". Extra charges included the oil, filter, and gaskets for the insp and timer covers. Why don't they include these items in the price? After all, these are kown quanities, not variables. Imaine taking your car toJiffy lube and them saying, "oh sorry that price outsidedoesn't include oil". We'd all tell them to pack it!! Sorry, just had to vent a bit. It's not the cost of the parts as much as it is the principal.

Yeah, I would think that things associated with the PM should be included in the price. Extra cost for things worn or broke.

Thats ridiculous, I would be upset as well. I dont see how that could benefit thm by adding an extra 50 bucks at the last minute. I would be much less upset as a customer knowing upfront. Nice bike btw. Its the first sporty that I really like now if I could talk my wife into getting one for me,err I mean her!!!

The dealers I've taken my bike to here post the price, and that includes parts (dino oil). They ask if you want synthetic, and tell you it will be $$ more. So I know ahead of time. What gets me in trouble is when I say.. "oh, while you have it in here look at this"

Because of the taxes in TX, I always make sure to ask what is my out-the-door price before getting any work done on any of my rides.
I make sure taxes, disposal fees, shop fees (some places expect you to pay for the shop-towels I guess), etc...
I guess it may be a good idea to get in this habit no matter where you live.
My closest Harley dealer always gives you the OTD price right up front, which I like.
They'll say something like, "that would be $170".
I make sure by asking, "How much after taxes/fees, I want the otd".
Response has always been, "that is your otd".
They've always stuck to it too.
