Waves not so much, but I usually get the pop a wheelie thing from kids.

When I used to ride crotch rockets it was an unwritten rule NOT to wave to Harley guys. Now that I’m a Harley guy I wave to them, some wave back. However, the bagger bro’s never wave back to me. I, like you, get irritated. But I’m not losing sleep over it. I’ll keep waving.

 

I'm hoping one of them wipes out and goes up under a truck..well not really but I wouldn't mind seeing it in a movie...

 

Same. Except I was told Harley riders didn't resepct crotch rocket riders so they would never wave to us, therefore I didn't wave to them. However now that I'm a Harley rider I'll wave to them since I was once one of them and can hopefully change their viewpoint of Harley riders.

 

I wave to anyone on 2 (or 3) wheels and a motor (or engine).....my original question was not really answered except maybe (kinda/sorta) by 1 or 2 people.
It was why does someone stare right at you, head cranked round.....and then not wave. (not why do people ignore you and not wave....I get that)

Lots of good posts, some lame ones, some downright hateful ones, some comical ones. It's all good I guess. About normal for this place.

 

Probably looking at your bike, looking for a "patch", or maybe they think you're cute. Who knows.

 

It's been proven many years ago that you meet the nicest people on a Honda so that's why I don't wave at Harleys.

 

If I did that, I could answer your question with why I do that; but I don't do that, so any answer is pure speculation on my part. My first speculation would be that they can't see you because it is dark where their head is.

 

mmmm....I think he is saying that kids on the side of road are giving him the 'please pop a wheely' gesture

Some years back, a nice looking girl in Chillicothe, OH made that gesture to me while I was riding an r90s. I lifted my front tire for her and then crashed the bike and totaled it. I bet she was really impressed. :P
