Why don't folks wave to Harley's ?

We did it in the 1960's and it was common back in the 1940's. Here is some theories on how it started https://brainbucket.rumbleon.com/biker-wave-origin

Aside from road manners, the wave has always been a signal that the road ahead is clear for the oncoming rider. If there is a speed trap you just passed...there’s a signal...an accident or road hazard....there’s a signal....
If it’s all clear....that’s a wave, or peace sign, or thumbs up or whatever you want. Just a courtesy road condition report to another rider. Not the end of the world, but can save someone else a world of hurt.

I ride a road king and a GSXR 1000 crotch rocket, sadely I AM old enough to remember the fist pump in the air for a passing biker. I wave at everybody no matter what they ride , hell I even wave at bicycles I don' t give a **** what they ride. That my friends IS the canadian way..
All across this great country bikers wave out of courtesy, brotherhood , to give warnings whatever..life is too short to be some stuck up ******* on a bike he or she thinks is better than the rest , because they are ALL fun , and they ALL have their issues.
Now have a wonderfull day.

There’s that too, but if you just passed a road hazard that the oncoming rider was about to ride into you might do something to signal them other than wave. In that case the wave is usually an All Clear sign by default. It might be more common where I am as there are a lot of technical roads so riders have a lot more variables to be alerted to on a regular basis than some other areas I’ve lived.
