Is a touring CVO really worth over $40k?
I found a leftover CVO Road glide that I’ve been looking to get. Even if I were able to get it for $40k even, I believe my bike is worth about $15k on trade. So I am finding myself asking is a leftover CVO road glide worth trade of my road glide PLUS $25k + tax and fees? I can do a hell of a lot of mods to my bike for $25k. The obvious difference would be resale value.

Now, if I had money to burn, I'd get a CVO.

The purchase price of any CVO model can be justified if you're one of those (like me) that chooses to radically accessorize their ride.
A "custom" paint job with serious engine upgrades on a non-CVO model will more than likely have you investing more than you would in a CVO bike and even then you won't have the many other premium items that come in a CVO badged bike (i.e. heated grips, heated seats, XM radio, remote locks, chromed trim items, bag liners, bike cove, etc., etc.).
I have one Anniversary Edition bike, one CVO Ultra bike and (probably my last) Tri-Glide.
I just couldn't bring myself to trade or sell my CVO in order to get a newer model trike as I knew that at this point in my life that I'd never get a replacement.

One should buy what they want, what they like, and what they can afford. Regardless of anyone else's opinion. No one has a nickle invested other than the purchaser.
If you want a glass of 100 year old scotch....and can afford a glass of 100 year old scotch......Who's to say you shouldn't buy it.
