Silverdawg, Lot's of good info already, but I will add that the Jeff Busby gas stop is the only gas stop actually on the trace, and if possible stop for lunch at French Camp (about 60 or so miles South of Tupelo, MS) it's in a group of old preserved buildings right on the Trace, and the sandwiches are great. &nbsp\\; Have a great ride.

I've ridden the Trace many times and it's a great ride if you're not in a hurry.A lot of great places to eat in Natchez.Check out the corner bar downtown Natchez,coldest beer in town and great atmosphere.

My normal itenerary:
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
If staying in Natchez:&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Comfort Inns/Suites, Vidalia La. (ask for 3rd floor overlooking river)
Natchez: Corner Bar, Fat Mama's Tamales
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Lorman Ms - Old Country Store, best fried chicken in the world (Hwy 61)
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Jackson Ms - Ross Barnett Reservoir -**** of the Walk (catfish rest)
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Ratliff Ferry - biker get togethers.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; 20-30 bikes on weekends, beer
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
French Camp - Old restored farm houses, nice sandwich shop, certain times of year they make cane syrup with a mule drawn mill then cook it down in big kettles.
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
River Bend - nice place to stop, restrooms, picnic area.
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Jeff Busby Store - only place I know that is on the Trace to get gas...
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
Maybe Fireglider can take you from there on up.
&nbsp\\;
If you have any specific questions I'll be glad to try to answer them....

Lewis - of Lewis &amp\\; Clark fame - committed suicide somewhere on the TRace in TN.&nbsp\\; Should be a marker.&nbsp\\; I never knew he killed himself, but he was an amazing American.

Certainly a lot of good information here. I'm looking at riding out to my dad's place in North Carolina and was figuring on taking the "long" way there and riding to Natchez, take the Natchez parkway up to Nashville, then take Cherohala over to North Carolina.&nbsp\\; Hearing that it's 50mph along there, I'll have to plan my stops accordingly. If there's a bit of wildlife out there I assume not riding at night would be preferable.

Tralfaz, just did your exact ride in the spring.&nbsp\\; Started just outside of N.O. La. and stayed one night about 1/2 way on the trace, then Franklin Tn (just outside of Nasshville). from there to Cherokee N.C.&nbsp\\; Easy riding and no interstates.&nbsp\\; And yes, I would try to avoid any night riding on the route I took, quite a bit of wildlife and if you are not familiar with the roads, pretty curvy for night riding.&nbsp\\; I'm sure you will enjoy that route.

I've ridden the trace once so here is my input.
&nbsp\\;*
*
*&nbsp\\;
On my first ride, I started at 9am and got back to Nashville at 5:30pm.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;
Enjoy the ride!!!
&nbsp\\;
considering it's 444 miles long - you made good time
