In my neck of the woods they seem to be going strong, we have a big name car dealership that is buying them up with plenty of inventory to boot.

We just had a new dealer open in San Francisco, Mission Moto Harley Davidson, https://www.missionmotohd.com/. It is owned by Rich Gargano and Cliff Chester. They also own several other Harley dealers in the Bay Area, including the former Dudley Perkins Harley Davidson which they now call San Francisco Harley Davidson. SFHD is actually located in South San Francisco.

Nope, matter of fact, in my area the dealership where I bought my bike from many years ago, is still thriving.

Yeah, they are slowly gobbling up most of the Bay area HD dealerships.

The two in my area that I'm aware of are High Octane HD and Boston HD. I typically go to High Octane over in Billerica if I need parts or fluid. Never been to Boston HD over in Revere.

If the sales keep slumping they will keep folding. I'm in WI and I have 4 big boutiques with 30 miles of me. Docs, Vandervest, Appleton, Open Road. So is that a true statement that dealers don't like to work on anything older then 10 years old? I'm right on that edge with my '09 Ultra.

Devil Mountain in Pittsburg, Ca closed about 10 yrs ago, don't know what's in the building now. I think it was a recession victim.
I think Jamestown, Ca closed recently.

None closing around here, but they do seem to keep getting bought up by the big car dealership groups.

The local just moved to a bigger building and bought out the local Honda dealer as well.
