My 2007 to perodicially clean the IAC. Stalls when coasting down. Pull air cleaner off, about 10 oclock is hole. Spary sensor cleaner in there as you cycle ignition and kill switch, need to hear the the little motor cycle.
Another bike did that for couple years. Finally got bad enough it would cut out while riding, and creat big back fire when it started again. Oddly enough it only did it with the after market ignition. Replaced coil, hasn't done it in years. Coil ohmed in spec. Carbed bike, still no codes.
Would also check codes, in case something like TPS was funny or CPK. It might be missing beats, but you don't notice it at highway speeds.
Go ahead an tighten connections, its free. But the bike started back up. Doesn't rule out some loose wire. But lots of other stuff I would think about first.

I spent the day worried about the bike and if I was going to make it home. After work, I got to the bike and started her up to idle while I geared up. It started fine and idled fine. I left the parking lot without issue and the ride home was uneventful. I got home and parked her for the weekend. I am going to spend time with her inspecting the items that you mentioned and give her a once over to see if anything looks odd. I do a pre-inspection every time that I ride so it was odd that I had the problems a few miles after I had left home.
Cogswell, yes, I tried pulling the clutch lever while the bike was in idle and it ran fine. I was also able to start her in first gear with the clutch pulled in, something that I did when it died and I was in the middle of turning.
Thanks again for taking the time to chime in with your suggestions. I truly appreciate them.

I didn't read through all of the replies but I had the exact same thing on my 03 Road King. Try cleaning the Vehicle Speed Sensor off, its literally 10 minute job. Pull it out, clean the metal sludge off and put it back in.
If that doesn't help you might have a small pin hole in the fuel line inside your gas tank. The plastic fuel line rubs the metal tank and develops a pin hole which causes the fuel system to loose fuel pressure.
