Default Bike Shakes

I just installed a HD windshield on my 05 Wide Glide. At about sixty mph the front wheel goes quickly left-right, left-right. It wobbles so badI think I'm going to loose it. What's going on???

Steering head bearings are loose, or you installed a left right turbulence windsheild.

Just a note: The HD shop said check the front tire pressure. I did, it was a bit low, I got the PSI right and the bike still shakes.

Welcome to the WideGlide wobble club. Had the same thing on mine.....put a fork brace on. Problem gone.

Lets back up just a bit first,,,,, you put on a windshield,,,, was it wobbling any at all before that? Do you have a shop manual if not I suggest one,money well spent? Tire pressure is very important front and rear tires are the only thing between you and the road and your riding skills check them often.

Did you check the steering head bearings yet? The fork brace won't hurt a thing.Other possibles, bad wheel bearings, loose axle nut oraxle pinch bolts,loose spokes, loose triple tree /fork tubepinch bolts, bad tire bead or cupped front tire (dished out areas on side thread) bad/loose handlebar riserbushings, out of true tire rim or out of balance tire.

Hello rainman1977;

Check every thing that John TN suggested, any one of the items or combination of items that he listed can cause problems. Also watch following or passing semi trucks, when useing a winshield, the draft on the big trucks will cause a left, right or right, left wind blast that will whip the steering around.

Good luck with it.
