Default H.O.G. membership

I received a one year H.O.G. memberships when I bought my bike but it expires and the end of the month never really used any of the benefits they offer do you think it would be worth renewing or let it expire?

I fight through this every year and end up renewing. Just in case I need a tow??

I'm thinking for you, it's not worth it. So far, I haven't seen any benefit. I also haven't given it a whole lot of time or thought.

If you ever want to join your local HOG chapter you'll need your national membership.

Most who renew do it for the towing but from what I understand the standard membership only covers one tow and only $100 towards that tow. I've read that you can upgrade the towing for around $20 for unlimited towing and paid in full.

If you're into doing road trips and touring, the Touring Handbook comes in handy. Tows are a plus too.

I get my towing through GEICO insurance, sold through Harley Davidson.
I purchased two new Harleys in the last 12 months and still haven't gotten a HOG membership - not that I care, but thought I would have gotten something..

I was just heading back over here to edit my post but you covered it. I assume that the OP has bike insurance and you may be paying for towing already through your bike insurance. Check your policy.

As far as the road atlas, it is very nice but I "think" you only get that in a welcome package, not a renewal package. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I'm on my first year of membership too.

I just got my renewal package and it included the latest "HOG Touring Handbook" volume 35 copyright 2019.

Like a couple of guys above, I do it because it allows me to get the Road America tow package which is absently fantastic!

I used to go to the HOG meetings. But that is not for me so I stopped.
