Grrr, primary derby cover bolts
4 of 5 gonna have to be drilled. Son of a......
Guess I'm changing the primary oil after the charity ride this weekend.
Aluminum bolts in a steel hole. Great design moco. These are getting replaced with hex heads

...did you try to loosen them with a T-25 torx bit instead of the correct T-27 size torx bit??? Ask me how I know.

Adding a thin layer of antiseize on the threads will prevent them from seizing and can be removed easier . I do agree with changing them to a allen head bolt .
+1 on the T-27 torx bit .

I found that they come loose easier if you ride the bike until it
is HOT and then break the screws loose.

Haven't been here in a while...
You say you have aluminum bolts in a steel hole. Never seen that. Curious if you meant steel bolts in an aluminum hole...
Anyway, I might suggest helicoil, but what do I know?

cprhd, you mean to say you purchased it that way brand-new, not preowned from the dealership? OEM??
I am thinking maybe you purchased it on a resale and somebody put aluminum bolts in there?
My eyes popped open when you had to drill out four or five of them. I am guessing the manufacturer would have known better.??
Am I missing something?
