Default Cleaning Exhaust Chrome?

What is the best way to clean chrome on my exhaust?

I have just fitted new V&H bigshot longs and don't want to scratch or stain when I clean it. This chrome is so soft - one barely needs to touch it and it shows up small scratches under certain light.
Also the back wheel is easy to scratch....

I used autosol chrome polish on my stock exhaust and it turned yellow in places.I was very annoyed - and don't want to make the same mistake on my V&H exhaust.

I have some Mother's chrome polish that says it doesn't scratch...... will it stain? can I use it on my exhuast?

What about Mother's Carnuba wax polish?

Advice in this regard will be appreciated!

best

For cleaning the exhaust, I would recommend quadruple ought "0000" steel wool. I have used it for years after a HD mechanic recommended it. Do not use anything rougher like "000" or "00" ; that stuff will scratch, but the quad ought stuff works like magic. Give it a try. Do not use it on polished aluminum, only chrome plated metal.

I have used 000 steal wool on mine no scraches and have taken off some nast things that got burned onto my pipes. Yes 0000 would be good too.

I have V&H true duals with ovals on my EG and have always just wiped it down during regular washing. When it needs a little "life" again, I use the 0000 steel wool and it shines right up.

I use Mother's Mag Polish or Turtle Wax Chrome Polish on my SE slip ons. So far I haven't noticed any scratches.

Spray a little carb and choke cleaner directly on a microfibertowel and wipe your pipes down with that. Make sure the pipes are cold and go back over them with a good clean/dry microfiber towel after you clean them with the carb and choke cleaner. Don't get the carb and choke cleaner on anything except the chome pipes. That stuff likes to eat paint.

Thnaks Guys - From what I am reading, one can use these methods (0000 Steel Wool, Lemon Pledge, Mother's Mag Polish), on the chromed exhaust shields as well? Or is it best just to wipe down with soapy water and towel dry with a soft chamois?

What about the chromed rear wheel of the FXSTC?
