Default First Aid Kit

Morning all! Just thought I'd throw this out there: a bunch of us are heading out in a week or so on a week long ride. Last night the idea popped into my head about having a first aid kit aboard the bike, cause ya never know right. Just curious if any of you keep one in your bike and where ya got it. Thanks!

No, but it's not a bad idea.

Always a good idea to have one . I bought mine at Walmart in the automotive department .. Canvas bag with all sorts of stuff in it , just in case . I also carry sun screen and after bite ( for bugs or crazy women ) .

I have a small kit in the bag...its called a day tripper. Luckily I've never had to use it. it has the first aid basics...one of those Mylar trauma blankets too. It hardly takes up any room so I figured why not.

I carry a small trauma kit with me on the bike, along with a mini compressor and a small battery jumper. The trauma kit is very similar to this one: https://www.survival-supply.com/mili...ak-p-5576.html and I added some over the counter stuff to go with it, Aleve, chapstick, sunscreen, etc, as well as an additional tourniquet. I also removed it from the canvas pouch and fit everything in the kit into a 1-gallon Ziploc for compactness.

I always carry one when I'm road trippin' enough to bring the trailer along but all I keep in the saddlebags are the mechanical repair kit. If a person can be fixed with bailin' wire, electrical tape and a greasy rag, we're in good shape.

Thanks for the reminder. Here’s a picture of mine. Baggie has bandaids and several 4x4 s. A couple packets of “stop bleeding in seconds”, I’m on blood thinners like a lot of us guys. Epi pen, gauze, tape, gloves......
Bill

Chap stick for reference

When touring I have one in crown royal bag. Should really have all the time, and probably go through replace some stuff due to age. Burn gel is something I might add in the future.

No matter what you decide to carry or how technical you get with it, know how to use the stuff.

Oh, and at least carry a tourniquet, a real one. If there is major, uncontrolled bleeding, the average person can get by with just that until help gets there. And again, practice on something so you know how to use it.

I'm a medic and carry the necessities, along with glucose gel, small bottle of aspirin for any heart stuff. Half a dozen pairs of rubber gloves. All the blood control equipment. There's more but it common "stuff". I've come across 3 nasty motorcycle accidents and glad I had what I had. I also carry a good trauma kit in my cage.
