Just traded up to a 2012 road
king. Was told that it didn't have a security system.. aka. No fob. But I checked on line and at the Harley dealer and they say that all 2012 roadkings came with fobs. I didn't buy it from a Harley dealership. But they said I can get a fob and have them set it up for about 60$. My question. If it does come with a security system. Then does anyone know how someone was able to by pass it. I want to re-hook it up and get a fob. I bought it from a used bike dealership and they just bought it that way from a Harley dealership down south.. meaning I'm on my own.. thanks in advance for any help..
someone told you wrong. security was an option. security was standard on the road king classic, but an option on the other models. if you don't have a fob, then you don't have security. to install security, it's gonna cost you a little more than $60 for the fob.

Looking at your other thread, you have a Road King Classic. If the PO just disconnected the security, then your dealer is correct. If the PO removed it, and it is no longer there, then the replacement (with fobs) is about $360.00.
Do you bye any chance know where it would be. if they did indeed just disconnect it ?
I'm not exactly sure where it is on your model, but if you remove the seat, the security module antenna (#2) is affixed to the top caddy.
Follow the jumper (#12) from the antenna (#11). It should lead you to the security module (#9).
