Default Seat Rub Strips

I'm currently using a CVO seat but want to be able to use the stock seat on occasion. Will that seat fit over the 11100157 rub strips? Found this pic to illustrate...

They are on all the CVOs with the 2 piece seat, direct from Harley. They can be purchased separately from Harley as well. They are there to protect the rear fender from the pillion rubbing and causing damage. I put them on my RKS as well because I bought a CVO setup. They work well.

OP, I have heard that you can put the stock seat back on without issue. Although, I have not tried it.

Ok, guess I may just have to try it. I don't have and probably won't get a passenger pillion, I'd just like to be able to use the stock seat at times. I'd really prefer to not have to put the rub strips on, I like the look without.

When I took my stock seat off, there were already marks on the fender from the previous owner. I do not know if he had another seat on there at one point, or how the marks got there, but they're there. But not too bad that they wont buff out, I think. I see no harm in leaving the strips on permanently if you can get over the look. Otherwise, get a fender bib.

Take the strips off. Replace with a leather fender bib.. The passenger pillion will fit right over it.. No fender scratches..That's what I do

You can also use 3M material in the area instead of the strips. My Heritage came with it and it is nearly invisible. I also put some on my hard bags because i kept hitting them with the boots every time I mounted or dismounted. The material is almost invisible and works very well at preventing scuffs or scratches.

This was where I was going with my question. If they' were there with a stock seat then a 2 up stock seat fit before.

Guess I wasn't clear, I'm talking about a stock Road Glide 2 up seat, not the 2 pc CVO solo and passenger pillion combo.
Harley wants $60 for a pair of rub strips, I'll try using the 3M clear anti-scuff material first.

I wouldn't, you'll see it when you go with the solo. JMO
