If the hose ID is 1/2 inch and it's 15 feet long, the first 19 ounces is going to be what was left from the last purchase. Even on a 2 gallon fill with 92 octane and a previous buy at 87 octane you're going to end up with >91.5 octane.
I've never crawled inside a hose. But I have heard it suck back down. Do you think they want to give you premium gas for the price of regular? How about the weights and measure folks?

The point was that you prolly get a little bit but not enough to matter so guys should stop worrying about it.
