Considering that '03 was only 4 short years ago, I'm not surprised you see them everywhere. But I can guarantee you, there are fewer '03 bikes on the road than all the other years put together. From this I conclude, since there was only one 100th Year Anniversary for HD the '03 bikes will become harder to find as more time goes by. Hence the value on those bikes should go up more. On the other hand, if HD is going to crank out Anniversary bikes every 5 years, it probably won't do anything, or very little for resale values. Every 5 years is just too much. Don't you think?

The badging wouldn't matter one way or the other if I wanted that particular bike, unless the anniversary model was priced higher, then I'd pass. The 03 anniversary bikes seem to be a dime a dozen- I see them everywhere, and the used ones at the dealer don't seem to demand a premium.
Someday though, all Harleys as we know them now will be worth big bucks.

Just the fact that you are calling it a "collectible" gives me the creeps..... It 's a motorcycle first. Ride it !!!
I see more guys selling new bikes that are only a few years old with 2-4 thousand miles on them being traded in for the newest (most collectable),bigger motormodel. Just the fact that they sell a 105 Anniversary bikes is a true testamentthatguys like you give them credence.
Try collecting old Baseball cards.... I hear they're fetching quite the sum these days.

Anniversary models, seems like every 25 years might be ok? Every 5 years seems excessive.Btw I loved my silver and black fatboy.

So it appears that HD will be celebrating their 105th year annivesary in 2008 with yet another series of Annivesary bikes. There was the 95th Anniversary, then the 100th Anniversary and now the 105th Anniversary. Isit just another marketing ploy to sell more bikes? Probably. Does it make them more collectiblethan non-anniversary bikes?Somewhat. Would you buy one?

I could be wrong, but take a look above. It's moot really. The new models are out. There are 105th anniversary models(lol) and the new Rocker is ugly as hell. The Fat-Bob looks kinda funky though. The jury is still out onthat one.
Looks like no water cooling yet (with the exception of the Buell's) but the Sportster seems to a likely candidate. Anyone guessing on the 09's yet...???

I think they are not selli them to make hype, it adds a new unique paint scheme that some may enjoy and like. I say go for it every 5 years... gives some to look forward to not with a bike thats an Annv. model for value but for looks.

25, 50 and especially 100 year anniversaries are milestones. 101, 105 53 year etc. don't really mean as much. As for those who don't like the 100 year bikes well your entitled to your opininions, and you problably buy red bikes which explains alot.
