Which risers to use with 16" apes?
I'm gathering everything to do the handlebar switch to 16" apes. I'm wondering if there are any safety issues with using 2 inch tall "Glide" risers vs. using riseres with a 1 piece top clamp?
Basicly the "Glide" risers are just 2 indiviual risers that clamp to your handlebars rather than the usual 2 risers with the 1 piece top clamp that is stock on most bikes.
Does it matter?

RE: Which risers to use with 16" apes?
When I did my swap to 18" on my rk custom, I switched to a one piece top clamp. It is recommended by LA Choppers (where my bars were made). Also, take into account that with the higher bars, you might get some slippage, back and forth. I do, at least. I contacted LA Choppers, and they recommend a riser that has a set screw in it to pinch the bars. For me, though, since I have the cover over the risers, I am going to drill and tap two set screws through my top clamp, to pinch the bars to hold them in place. Someone also recommended to me to wrap a piece of sand paper around the bars and install the clamp on top of it. But, I think the set screws will work better. They don't slip all that much, but if you hita big bump and happen to pull back on the bars, they may slip back. Just a FYI.
