Default Longest ride to date.

I'm still a newbie to riding. Took my longest ride so far. I wanted to buy a service manual for my 07 Ultra.
Now, sure there are 2 Harley dealers withing 10 miles of me, but what fun is that?

I went back to the dealer I bought the bike from, Thiels Wheels in Upper Sandusky Ohio. About 70-75 miles each way. As an old friend of mine might say, it was hotter than a half f*cked fox in a forest fire. Temperature was 90-95, the air temp gage on the bike read 110 all day.
Found out something. It gets a bit breezy behind those semi's on the expressway. I took I75/23 down and route 199 back for anyone familiar with the area. 199 is a nice ride, lots of farmland, gentle curves and a few small towns.

BTW: the bike ran flawlessly, no ping, no knocks, no "rocks in a can". I used 6th some of the time, perfect.
The only thing that could have been better was if it wasn't so damn hot. Only 150 miles but I was a bit worn out by the time I got home. Jumped in the pool to relax, all in all, a good day.

Good on ya mate. Feels good to get your face in the breeze. Went for a quick 150 spin this afternoon myself. Suprisingly very little traffic and had a chance to open her up going across Ortega Hwy, which is very rare.

You will find your rides get longer and longer. I'm at the point I can't stand the usual "local rides" any longer, after beating up the same roads over and over. Now, asimple weekend-day ride may exceed 400 miles, just so I can experience new roads and see new things.

I'm driving my riding buddies nuts, and find I spend more time riding alone, but that's not a bad thing.

I went on a ride down I-75 between Lima and Wapak. The side draft from the semi's is almost unbearable at times. I'm guessing you're from the Toledo area...if you haven't already, take 65 down to Grand Rapids and follow it after it turns into 110 to Napoleon. Cross the bridge in downtown Napoleon and take 424 to Defiance. You won't regret it. A couple nice ice cream shops and a few state parks along the way. Very scenic route.

I LOVE that route. Before I got the bike I would cruise 424 in my Crossfire, it likes curves.
