Motorcycle Course on a Scooter?
Do any of those basic skills courses let students bring their own bikes?
I know a lady who wants a motorcycle license, wants to take a skills course, and only wants to ride a scooter. That is, she has zero interest in ever riding a motorcycle with a manual transmission.
Thx

When I took my Minnesota MSF beginners class, we rode the provided bikes, nobody brought their own. Not sure if they'd allow that or not.
I can see them not- as the instruction is for beginners, and it's probably easier to have everyone on the same type of bike- so the instructors don't have to address one off questions, etc.....

When I took the class in '98 in FL, they allowed you to ride your own bike if it was 250ccs or less. I had a 250cc D/S, but chose to ride the course's bikes instead. They have you do some tight maneuvering, and I almost went down once, and we had abot 3-4 people go down. All mild spills, no injuries or real damage to the bikes, but still glad I didn't use my own. As for learning the manual - I wouldn't sweat that much. Good knowledge to have just in case, and IMO its much easier to learn on a bike than a car
