Default Fob question

Not sure how but it seems my bike forgot one of my fobs.

Dealer put a new battery in it last time they had it which was a month ago but now the bike does not recognize it.

Ever had that happen

Does that mean it needs to be activated again? One of my fobs doesn't work, even with a new battery.

Unlikely the bike forgot the fob. More likely the fob or battery is defective. Maybe try putting a new battery in it and see if it works. Fob may be dead, or have excessive draw that kills new batteries fast, or maybe just a bad battery was installed.

Pretty sure it uses CR2032 batteries available at most any store that has a battery display.

A quarter will open the fob, and the battery comes out without any tools IIRC, or at worst a mini screwdriver.

Some one recently posted about the battery being in backwards.

Lol well, I was thinking technical reasons, not silly human error reasons!

Not that I don’t agree a meter is a very handy thing to have - bordering on being a necessity, but a new battery is what, a buck?

Lol...a buck? This might be a surprise but I've found the batteries are actually cheaper at the dealer...by about a buck! I did notice my bike didn't recognize the fob right after I changed the battery. After a few minutes it was ok...maybe it needs a few minutes to recognize the fob after a power loss, just a guess

A voltmeter is a must for every work shop
Car batteries, outlets, etc.
I also pack spare FOBs batteries and light bulbs in my tool bag.
