Default I cant get the starter out!!!

Im having a hard time getting the jackshaft bolt and locking washer out to let the jack shaft loose to take the starter out. IT WONT BUDGE!! the freakin manual says hold pinion gear in place and remove the bolt..ITS NOT THAT SIMPLE. Someone please help me. What am I doing wrong!

Having a similar problem on a '96 Road King. I have the jackshaft bolt out but am stuck from that point on. How do you remove the jackshaft?? Will that allow the starter to be removed. Have already removed the flange bolts, so what else is holding this unit in place??

well I got the bolt loose and the starter removed. Now Im trying to get to the damn drive clutch. There are are two bolts with philips head on top. Well the philips is a no go and I cant find a thin enough socket for it. AWESOME!
