Default Which Group Would You Ride With?

If EVERYTHING was even, and you were going to go on a ride with 4 other bikers for a week, which group would you ride with?

Group "A": They have NO plans but will figure out where to go each morning.

Group "B": They have plans where they will be going, staying and things to do for the entire week.

Which group would you ride with (and why if you do not mind)? A or B?

Thank you,

BuzzCap7

C. I would be interested in seeing certain historic spots but winging it the rest of the day.

if i had my druthers, group a would be it. i mean it's nice to have a general plan for the trip, but flexibility is key. maybe you want to spend more time in an area, maybe where you planned on staying isn't exactly the best or you aren't ready to stop yet so you push it further down the road.

but, if i had made a plan to ride with some buddies, and they were of the group b type, i can adjust. after all, it is about the camaraderie isn't it?

D: None of the above!

Why? If I'm planning a ride from Virginia to California, I may decide to go by way of Canada and Mexico with little side trips between. I might be gone for a couple of weeks, or maybe a couple of months. When your riding in a group, you can't do any of that. I also appreciate being able to camp out along the way. So I might ride late into the night and decide I'm tired and camp out somewhere along the highway, or maybe find someplace a mile or two off the main road. Or maybe I figure I should clean myself up a bit so I might stop at a motel or some campground with shower facilities and spend the day there.

Riding in a group whether they plan weeks or months ahead or just day to day means it is still planned. That's even if everyone agrees before hand. And y'all know there is always a whiner in the group. Eff that,

I'm gonna choose group B. I like to plan and make reservations in advance. I plan all the things that I wanna do. Now, that being said, I may plan in an extra day at stops to see some things I hadn't planned on and just take it easy.

If I had to ride with a group, I'd want one that had their plans in advance ... and I'd plan to go anywhere else.

Are we camping or are we going to need to find motel rooms for four guys every night?

If camping, A. If we need motel rooms, that isn't even a question.

And I actually do these rides, every year. I'm in the hi-viz, of course.

Generally a solo rider. If I were to be in a group, I would not want to over-plan in advance. Sh*t happens. Go with A.

I enjoy meeting people

Prefer riding alone or significant other riding shotgun

Always plan.

Always have a plan B
