Default Primary Oil Color

I have an 18 FLHX with 7500 miles. I checked the primary oil level and noticed it has a silver color to it. I have read that it is from the clutch and is normal for first 10000 miles. Is that accurate and should it be silver. Please see attachments.

Primary oil color This is totally normal. I always change my primary oil with each oil change. Maybe overkill, but oil is cheap.

The metal shavings are from the primary chain and sprockets. Color and amount look normal to me.

From the chain and sprockets or from the clutch discs? Just wanting to know what I am looking at when working on my bike.

The silverish color probably comes from fine aluminum shavings off the clutch basket - nothing to worry about. I'd have changed the primary and trans oil with the first engine oil change.

Did you change the engine oil and primary fluid at 1000 miles?

yes, changed all three holes at 1000. Change engine oil at 5000 and just changed the primary at 7500 when I noticed the silver color

Thats why it looks so dirty. I change my primary every time I change my oil. And change my trans fluid every other oil change. Overkill, but cheap insurance.
