I got an HD modular, black, when I bought my bike (used store credit negotiated in the deal). Before long, I decided I needed a higher end, safer helmet. Got this Shoei X12. Yeh, I think it provides a bit more visibility, I like the graphics, and it shouldn't be controversial (at least to cops and most).

I am not sure how it is a stupid question. If the helmet fits and suits your needs and you like the graphic vs plain, why not? I read into your question that you like the helmet but are don't want to be self -conscious about standing out in a negative way. Nobody will care in the end. Out on the road, you are just an anonymous guy riding a motorcycle.Sometimes people think others are always checking them out. But they're not because they really don't care.IMO the only riders that get laughed at or pointed at are the wannabe billy badass types trying to act all hard all the time instead of just being themselves. That is what stands out to most people--not a graphic on a helmet. IMO of course.

Who cares what others think. I wear a helmet with some graphics.

matches the bike a bit and I like it. I've always had the heavy metal flake helmets. I grew up with second hand helmets as a kid and always liked the sparkle ones best when I could get them. It just kinda stuck with me. Out of the options you posted I'd lean toward the black one with the stripes. Cool look but not too busy.

I don't have pics but I use a leather helmet with the classic goggles when I ride my sidecar rig.

The ONLY way you should wear one of those helmets is if you have a Power Rangers, or Super Hero suit to go with it!!

Motorcycles are already invisible to other drivers on the road. I doubt that they will notice any graphics on the helmet. It is a matter of personal choice.

Getting time to consider a newer one. Stale date at 6 years. The current is matte black – pretty straight forward. Bell Qualifier DLX. Like the blue tooth function ( Sena SMH-10 ) and Transitions Adaptive Face Shield at a fair price. Not in the mood to spring for new Bluetooth setup.

Now, I am not a draw attention to myself sort of guy. Don’t have spiked, or purple hair, no tattoos, etc. Pretty well buttoned down. So, thinking of keeping the same helmet brand and style. Works well enough. Whilst looking I ran across two with graphics. I ride a silver and black low rider for reference. That got me to thinking…..

Are helmets with graphics, well, stupid? (Trying to be P.C. here ) Does anybody care? If I have to ask.....? It may just be fun to have something totally different.

What say you?

Current Matte Black:

Options.......

I thought you said you rode a Harley. If you really do, you don’t give a damn what other people think of your choices.
