There was a little more chrome on my 1994 Sporster than my 2018 Fat Bob!
Even the zip ties were chrome on the Sportster. Did take a while to clean all of the chrome hex socket bolts.

From back when you had to take off your cases and send them to Browns if you wanted chrome…

Agreed but chromed bikes tend to be more ornate than the dark customs. My RK or my wife's Deluxe takes much longer to clean than the FB because of it...

Just talking about bikes off the line. You add gingerbread, it's on you.

Chrome looks amazing, but I am lazy and hate washing my motorcycles, or any vehicle for that matter, so I got a Fat Bob.

On stock bikes, they are either painted or chromed. I can't think of any cases where the parts are not the same otherwise. So given the choice and based on my experience, I'll gladly clean chrome over black. For instance the primary cover.

Otherwise, I'm not sure why you're implying by ornate. To me, that means more stuff that is generally small.
