What is wrong with chrome
#141
I have nothing but chrome
I have no issue with blacked out bikes, but I’ve always felt blacked out was always the minority when it came to Harley’s, just like when they had the night train back in the day, that was the only blacked out bike you could find. Now it’s the majority! Chrome bikes are hard to find unless you buy used. Call me old school, but I like the used market so much better than what Harley is putting out now at days. I get it, they’re trying to attract that new society of millennials. However, they’re not buying into it. At least not a vast majority. I’ll always be a harley fan, but it’s going to be the older bikes that I always dig. Just bought an 05 Road King in 2019 and absolutely love the bike. I’ve had my 03 Fatboy for 13 years and can’t see myself ever getting rid of it. To all the chrome lovers, keep your bikes!!!
I have a Road King and Fatboy and love every square inch of chrome.
Solid chrome!
Old school baby!

2019 Street Glide Standard Just added the driving lights last week.
Don’t get me wrong I think some of the blacked out motorcycles look really good but I am just old school, I like the traditional look of chrome. I also think the black is a fad that will run its course and the chrome will never get old. Don’t beat me up on that it’s just my opinion. I bought a new Street Glide Standard just for that reason, would have liked the 114 engine but I sacrificed that for the chrome, and saved quite a bit of money also.
So to the point, have been considering having my stock enforcer wheels chromed, haved looked at some aftermarket wheels but seems to me that there is less selection in chrome in that area also, not to mention the prices.
Anyway just wondering am I among the minority that still loves the look of chrome? There is just something about a H-D that has a nice set of shiny chrome wheels that make me smile.

Together, the wife and I have three bikes and one trike. We had 5 total until 2018 when we sold the '03 RK (with 295 miles on the clock!)
All have been pretty much "chromed out" with the exception of my '18 Tri-Glide but it's "in-process" and it is nearly done "accessory wise" but
I just can't justify replacing 3 NEW wheels, tires, brake rotors and bearings in order to complete the "chroming) but it time it will happen down the road.
I rode from '69 to '92 before the allure of chrome got to me and it started with my '92 Heritage Softail Classic and it hasn't stopped!

I agree I also think black is more difficult to keep newish looking, and I personally think the new m-8 heads are fugly. So (my thinking is) black helps hide the weird looking heads shape.
I allways thought the harley motors were a jewell to be displayed, and showed off in bright shiny chrome setting, on older engine designs, not so much any longer. I wanted the 114" , so ended up with an RK special. It's a nice bike, but I personally like the look of the old RK models much better.
Chrome dont get ya home,
Black might not make it back..
I am liking the black bikes more, and more lately.
