Default Quiet baffles for aftermarket exhaust systems.

IIRC, some aftermarket exhaust manufacturers have a quiet baffle option. How much more quiet are they than the regular baffles?

Think its gonna vary from brand to brand but in my case with Vance and Hines short shots the quiet baffles aren't much quieter, a few dbs at most. They do however make the sound much much better, its deeper and sounds great now vs standard baffles

When I had V&H, the quiet baffles helped the sound a bit but my bike blew the fiberglass packing out easily. On my current bike I installed a vortex cone in the end of the muffler. Deeper, cleaner, more mellow sound and no packing to blow out

I had the V&H's quiet baffles with the V&H's Big Shot Staggered Long pipes. It lower the dbs just a little.

I had the Cobra Speedsters xtra longs on my bike and they were danged loud, I mean hurt your ears loud. So I ordered the quite baffles and installed them. A complete wast of time and money!!! I have a built 103 Twin cam and I put a set of stock 103 mufflers on it and now it is Ah with no power loss what so ever.

I have no comparison experience but I got Rush slip-ons shortly after getting my bike, 3" with 2" baffles. They sound great, not at all too loud. Baffles come in 1.75", 2", and 2.5". Worth checking out.

Why change the exhaust if you prefer quiet?

I put the quiet baffles in my V&H big radius pipes and they didn't make much difference. I went back to the standard baffles and added a set of the Thunder Torque inserts from D&K and I really like the sound now. I think it does have a tick more torque as well.

Another one here that put the quiet baffles in my Dyna with V&H Bigshots Staggered. As stated above they didn't quiet it down much but I did notice the same tone change and kept 'em in for that reason.

Well for me, when I bought my Road King, I was still under the impression that a Harley had to have two pipes on one side, to look like a Harley "boy was that stupid!" I bought the pipes that is on my sig pic. Just as soon as Cobra USA built quite baffles for their speedsters, I bought some, and it was not near quiet enough, so I put stock, 2015 cans on my stock 2007 head pipes. Now for me that is the ticket, cause my hearing is more important than my looks
