Default Touch-up Army Insignia...

Its been two years and the gas cap is fading, maybe from gas overflow. The derby still looks good. Can't contact the vendor.
Know a way to touch it up ? Thanks
(what is looked like before)

I hope can get it restored. That's a nice cover. What group were you in?

I wasn't in Halo, just Honoring my twin Nephews. That was for the Army Nephew. The link shows the Derby of the Marine Nephew. I have the unit in some email ! ha

I have that crest with an XIX under it tattooed on my arm.

And, it's interesting that you shorten my username to Halo. That's my road name in our club.

Have a air brush artist duplicate it or go over that one, might work

Have you tried any of the products that bring back the black trim on autos? The trim that fades from the sun. Something from TurtleWax maybe or the product from HD that works on black inner fairings.

The design on the gas cap looks like it was Silk Screened to me.
That is going to be difficult to restore.

The wording and icon seems in good shape but is the black what is in need of
restoration?

Best bet is to buy another.
I too would try a mild polish, hand application, on the black only...but I won't expect much.
Perhaps another best bet, is to protect the rest of the design from further
fading....a clear wrap, paint clear coat...noting the comment about gasoline fuel
perhaps being the cause of the original's failure so what-ever protection needs to
be fuel resistant.
Before starting any repair, take a "super" picture so perhaps a digital shop can recreate the
design in a single sticker.

Good luck.

Good Stuff thanks Kenny.. Looking though some old emails, they stated these were power coated. But it seems like a matte finish.. I probably should have added some protection to it. I power coated parts of the bike through a guy. Might contact him for any ideas.
