Went for a nice ride yesterday on the road kingin colorado
Denver, black hawk, peak to peak, estespark gotback on I25 south to Denver crusing 80+ in the right lane kid on a fancy painted vrod runs up fast in the left lane(kid? tank top and gym shorts sandels) looks at me traffic in front starts checking up he sees brake lites and dropes the ancor on the front does a 90mph stoppie
slide side ways high sides it now in my mirrior i see him hit and bounce at least 4 times. cars skidding all over by the time i get stopped he has some people helping so headed out called the hyway patrol later not dead but multiple fractures they would not
tell me his name or hospital.
would like to visit him just feel bad for him happend around noon
between loveland and longmont july 4 SB I25.

I think thats what i want or ask him what the hell he was thinking?

 

It's nice that you had theafter thought to try to check on his condition but my question is if you see another rider go down whether he's doing something stupid or not how do you not stop to help him? I'm in the US Army in Iraq right now and we deal with major injuries all the time. When someone gets hurt our first instinct is to help them. I was just wondering what was so important that you couldn't have stopped to try to help the poor kid. I'm not trying to disrespect you in any way or try to flame you I was just wondering if anyone else thinks it's a little odd that someone would just keep riding away after an unfortunate accident like that. Sorry if you feel like this is a hit on you, bigstevex4, I guess some people just have different values in life.

why challenge a mans values? We're not in your situation, and the man said there were people helping and he did what he could, and cleared the scene. I hope you're there if I go down, but if not I hope that those who can help me can get to me through the crowd that can't. Thanks from my country.

 

Stoppie on a v-rod you say? Well I'll say no one ever deserves to have something like this happen to them, but have to say it sounds like we could've seen it coming. Sounds like the guy had more bike than smarts, on more counts than one.

And no need to feel bad about not stopping if like you say there were 4 or more others already there. Can't have everyone stop. Too many and all it's doing is backing up traffic meaning it'll take even longer for the emergency teams to get through to him.
