I would call ASAP the bank who had the loan to you, tell them of the dealer whom you have the trade in with and make sure they know whom to collect from. Then I'd call..actually ride over with a few friends and make certain they know whats going on.. during bank hours hopefully... so you can get it settled
Only time I have had this problem is when insurance didn't fully pay off a loan on a gfs car her friend totaled for her, I had to shell out 450.00 to close the loan after ONE delinquent notice. Then brought the friend to court to collect the loan..at an amazing 17 dollars a month. Boy was I pissed.

You've already signed off on the bike.Being an A-hole,like Texasjagguy. And filing a false police report on a bike you know wasn't stolen, isn't an intelligent thing to do.This happens with dealers all the time,it's happened to me.They straightened it out.My empirica score was not affected.

I had the same problem when I traded my sportster in for my heritage. I ended up contacting the Attorney Generals Office who contacted the DOT and they siezed the sportster adn closed down the shop I traded it into. After 6 months of non-payment of my trade in. It was not a quick process but they were told to either give me the bike back (which I would have gladly taken) or pay it off within 48 hrs or go to jail. It was actually done within 24 hrs. The other issue was I could not get the title for the Heritage and found out after 2 months that the same thing was going on with the original owner and they were fighting to get their lien on my bike paid off too. The seller did straighten everything out in the end insteda of going to jail and wrote letters to both lien holders so our credit was fixed. Hope it gets done quicker for you then it did for me.

That sux, I'll be watching to see what happens.[sm=popcorn.gif][sm=popcorn.gif] Sounds like you may be dealing with a business scrambling to stay afloat ( with your money). People can do BAD things when they're desperate.

GAGirl, I dealt with them on bike back when they were Easyriders of Atlanta in 2001. Had a hassle with them installing parts on bike I bought from them. You can check out my comments at www.stealer-dealer.com and look under archives.
After that, other than buying oil and filters from them and a couple of tires that was only dealings I had with them. The mechanic they had seemed pretty good(for tires, anyway).
They recently changed owners, I believe. Thought they might be different but I guess not.

I went in their Wednesday to look at a bike and they were total Jerks. I had dealt with them in Columbus and they were fine. I saw your 883 in their so they still have it. Good luck.
