Default Steve McQueen’s 1936 Harley up for sale

McQueen has been dead for almost 40 years, and it's awesome he's lost none of his cool factor. For the record, I will say I think Bullitt is a pretty terrible movie, outside the car chase. That said, a gorgeous 1936 VLH he owned is hitting the auction block, and it's sure to fetch a pretty penny. Heck, in this condition, it would even if nobody special had owned it! Check out more info on the bike here!

I am sure it will get top dollar. That said. Why? It's been restored since it was sold, if I read it (the link) right. If it was in the original condition I would appreciate it much more. That's my thoughts.

Yeah... I mean, if McQueen touched it, maybe leave it alone?

Not really. McQueen is only a plus for some. I would just appreciate an original much more than something that has been reworked. For me, emphasis on "for me", I could give a **** who the previous owner was. Elvis, Fred Flinstone or Bob Smith. An original un restored is more desirable to me

If Paul Newman's ROLEX Daytona is any indication then yeah! Newman's Daytona sold at auction for 17 million!

The estimate on the bid sheet is $75,000 - $125,000. NADA shows it at $38,150 in excellent condition.

Very cool bike and very cool (to me) it was McQueens. When I was a kid, McQueen lived up the canyon from me. When I was out front, he would always stop and chat, and let me check out his cars. I am sure he could see the "car guy" twinkle in my eyes.

I have a good friend who's a 45 year+ HA, found out he hung out extensively with McQueen back in the day, helping him wrench his bikes. Also found out my HA buddy's aunt was my best friends' (during my youth) mother, and I probably met this now buddy in our youth, though of course don't remember. It's a very small world sometimes.

So wish I could own that beauty with the McQueen legacy, WAY cheaper than some of his cars that sold in recent years. If I had the money to burn (I don't), I'd probably be all over it.
