Did they ask for any proof of service? I bought a Jeep Wrangler in 2013 and they made me bring in a copy of my DD214.

My local dealer (Bigg's HD) is very pro military. And that may be an understatement. They always give our military members, both past and present, discounts.

Then again, there's few bases fairly close to San Marcos, like~

Camp Pendleton

NAS North Island

MAS Miramar

March AFB

and then there's a few smaller clandestine bases that most of you may not know about...

Boswell's here locally does it, Appleton probably does as well if you mention it

Bruce Rossmeyer's offers it as well. Thank you for your service, WAGSRK08.

No they did not. I offered my retired ID card but wasn't necessary. I'd had ran home for my DD214 if I was buying a new bike......

All the dealers that I visit have given me the military discount. I do carry a copy of my DD 214 just in case. Except in those towns near military bases, I don't think it costs dealers too much, and it generates a lot of good will. I read somewhere that only 7% of the population as a whole are military veterans.
