It is cheap and you get the nifty yellow "Contributor" banner on your sig panel to boot. Oh wait, I already have one.
OK, after you contribute when does the banner show up?

Do the vendors get toadvertise for free or do they pay for all the banners we see? If they pay where does that money go?

$20 bucks has proven a small tee-tiny drop in the bucket to what this place has saved me on potentially costly repairs and upgrades. It gives the term "cheap insurance" a new meaning.

Do the vendors get to advertise for free or do they pay for all the banners we see? If they pay where does that money go?
Well, I think you're looking at where it goes. I doubt that the people behind this forum are driving Hummers...but if they are, great! That's what America's all about (or used to be, anyway, before....oh alright, I won't go there...)

But how many forums do they run and if it is a bunch then this could be a pretty good money maker. The members they have the more they can charge vendors. So it pays for them to have a great forum like this.

I can assure you, once again just like other things they are not making money hand over fist like this. Everything is expensive..... Hell I belong to a couple forums that you CANNOT even view the forum until you are a paying member. They have over 20k members all paying, and it is well worth it.
