Cool Broken wheel spoke

Hi y'all. Well, it finally happened. Been riding since 1972 and I recently had a wheel spoke break on my bike. After some research I've decided to have all of the spokes replaced and of course have the wheel trued and balanced. But, this is new territory for me. Where do I take my beloved 06 DWG for the fix? I live in the Indianapolis area. A dealer? An independent and if so, which one? Thoughts? Observations? Experiences? Suggestions? Adios!!! HD

Unless the dealer in your area has a competent "wheel man" I'd recommend checking out a local dirt bike tech ... They have the talent and time ( in most cases ) to do a quality job at a fair price ... I'd also recommend checking out Buchanan Spokes ... In my opinion they are one of the best in the business of spokes

I dealt with the dilemma a couple times and finally decided to ditch the spokes. As far as having the wheel laced, I would ask local Indy over a Harley shop, unless you don't care much about your finances.

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't thought about an off road shop. I'll check into that and the spokes too. Many thanks. HD

del's cycle service in green bay can do it. he's about 80 years old, sharp as a tack and has been doing spoke rims for over 50 years. it's a long way from indy, indiana tho.

Thanks for the tip on Del's. GB isn't that far if Del's is the best. So far I haven't found a universal "Go To" independent shop here in the IND area yet...haven't needed one until now. Just moved here 18 months ago. Many thanks.

Don't rule out stainless steel spokes while you're in there anyway.

If you have the time, and patience, you too, can learn the art. It ain't rocket science. Lots of video out there to watch. You can do it!
Here is one to start with, and there are different techniques, so watch a few different ones to get what you need.
