THank you so very much. I am just a little overwhelmed at the moment.

I am sorry for the loss of your dad. I hope the best for you. One thing to consider - Try to delay any financial decisions for several months. You are dealing with a significant loss, emotion and many other decisions. It's a good time to move slow on everything else.

You'll want to check things out with a lawyer and/or executor of your dad's estate, this could be complicated. I'll leave it at that.

P.S. Did your dad get the loan insurance on the motorcycle that pays the loan off if he dies? Doesn't hurt to check.

I am the executor of his Estate. He does leave a surviving spouse and a Will.

That helps. Just contact the loan holder.

P.S. Sorry for your loss.

No he didn't. Thanks for everyone's input. It has really helped a ton. When you are new to having to do this it is overwhelming at times.

My friend has a new street glide he wants for me to take over

Find out what the pay off is.

Find out what the %rate is.

What would a 100% new one would cost you to finance with your credit score.

Unless it is a financial deal for you. I'd pass on it.

Clearly you didn't read the thread...

To natlvn1974, first I offer my condolences for your loss. It seems overall, you have a grasp of what you're doing. The best way to finalize everything will be to complete the probate process and then finance the payoff amount through your choice of creditor. Given that you are the executor of his estate, it should be no trouble for access the info on the current loan.
