i pass slowly when im splitting lanes as i think bikes have an even harder time seeing me coming than other traffic. plus around here, you never know when they are going to split lanes as well, and some dont expect the in between lane area to be occupied by another bike.
the guy i passed seemed pretty cool. wasnt wearing the obligatory pirate costume, and what i saw of the bike looked performance oriented. well, relatively, of course.

tee shirts,ball caps (on backwards) and flip flops. The rest
wear full leathers and full face helmets! Alot are like sheep

No I don't dislike Harley riders,Cruiser riders,Crotch Rocket
riders or any other types of motorcycles riders at all"
That being said I do dislike (dumb azz riders) no matter
what they choose to ride" "BUT" I won't start worthless
threads about them, I'll tell them to their face in person
the way it should be done...
I love my Harley and all motorcycles, two wheels is two
wheels just ride IMO!
All riders on all motorcycles of all types are my brothers
and sisters which I treat as such up until they prove to
me in person they are not worthy of such respect from me.
Motorcycles are not about (them vs us) motorcycles are
about all brothers and sisters taking care of each other
respecting each other and watching each others backs at
all times!
People do not need to start threads like this about people
they no nothing about, this is not what motocycling is all
about. All threads like this do is add fuel to the fire that
non riders love to see, they want us all separate and
distanced from each other so they can rule over us more

Oh my God! Even though this thread began with a serious toipc (presented in a humorous way), it could possibly be sold to television or a movie company. Jerry Springer has nothing on this group; cynics, a smarta$$ here and there, alcoholics, and preachers. Throw in a religious nut and a political pundit, and Bingo! the gangs all here. I want to thank each and every person who posted and responded, it was totally entertaining. Of course, there's 25 minutes I'll never get back.

That's a load of crap. Here in central Massachusetts there's a bike night I attend at a small drive in restaurant/ice cream stand and the guy who owns it got a liquor license. We get sometimes 300 bikes on a mid-week night, all cruiser and mainly H-D riders. The bar is empty, no one is drinking. The owner isn't making anything on booze.. and he's barely scraping by on the cheeseburgers.
I know guys ride H-Ds and drink, ... you do see it sometimes at bike weeks.. it's a shame, and it isn't right, and it is dangerous. But, in general, H-D riders today are a pretty mature group. You think these crotch rocket guys don't drink? You're just not invited to their parties.
I do agree that we're all one brotherhood, or should be. Sometimes it might pay to have a talk with some of these younger guys. You'll find out that they love Harley's, they just can't afford them. They're just working on so much testosterone and so little experience they just don't know any better. I don't know about anyone else, but when I was in my early 20s I was my own worst enemy too. I don't know how I survived.
Riding drunk is a real problem and everybody knows it! It's no where near as prevalent today as it was back in the 70s. Alcohol awareness and the DWI laws are making our roads safer. (Don't get me wrong, there's still way to many drunks out there that measure any drive in how many beers it takes to get there.. going to Boston? 3 beer drive. But, they are in cars more than anything.)
The loud pipes thing? How many posts you see on here that say "Hey guys where can I get me a set of real loud pipes?"... I just don't see it? Maybe someplace else.. but around here the freakin' 12 wheel dump trucks and deisel school buses are much louder than motorcycles.
