Black engine cleaning and touch up

RE: Black engine cleaning and touch up
S100 and pig spit both work good. I think I might like the pig spit a little better. One point-not to step on any toes, but if someone mentions an unconventional product- for anything - and says it "looks great", remember that your "looks great" may not be the same as their "looks great".
Some people just don't notice all the swirls on thier paint, etc. It just looks shiny so they are OK with it. Just my 2 cents.

I use the S100 Engine Brightner and love the stuff for my black engine. It keeps it showroom new looking!

All it takes is $1.50 and four minutes at the do-it-yourself car wash and you will have every nook and cranny looking new.
When you get there allow plenty of time for the engine to cool down. When you use the wand keep high pressure away from your instruments and wheel bearings. Been doing this for years and never had a problem.

Question:
I live in a dusty environment (2.5 miles of dirt road to getto my house!)I'd love to dress up the crinkle black paint on the motor but i worry if these products will end up being a "dirt magnet" considering where I live.Do any of these NOT attract dust after using???

RE: Black engine cleaning and touch up
Thanks all for the info.
I hope that it just needs a shot of R100 or pig snot and not a touch up. Everything looks really nice, except on the front of the engine right below the cylinder and the front cylinder fins. Kind of has a white/brownish "film" just in these areas. Once I get it cleaned up, if it still has it, then I will see if I can score some "touch-up" paint to get it looking like the rest of the engine.
Thanks again

RE: Black engine cleaning and touch up
Over the weekend I was at the dealer trying to decide on the PigSpit or the S100 Engine Brightener. The parts guy said they both work about the same. I went with the PigSpit just because I got twice as much fora dollar more than what they wanted for the S100.
Does anyone have any application tips? Use a nylon brush or toothbrush? Is it ok to get it on the chrome? It comes in an aerosol can.So spraying it on the engine without getting any on the chrome is going to be quite a feat.

I use S100 on the cases and tire wet on all of the wrinkle parts. It makes the wrinkle parts shine very nicely. (this is after washing the bike with regualr old car wash from meguiars)

Heck i just spray the Pig Spit on the black and wipe the chrome afterwards. Make my motor look new. You dont have to be real careful and it really doesnt take alot. One spray and you'll figure it out.
