Default First bike simple battery issue superlow 2014

Hey guys so I bought my first bike a few months ago 2014 harley superlow, the battery died so I pulled it out to charge it up and when I put it back in I connected the negative and positive cables to the battery and the bike turns on now perfectly but won't fire up and I'm not sure what I did wrong any help would be greatly appreciated

Does it crank, but not start ? Does it not crank? Is kill switch in run position?

Kill switch is not engaged when the battery was dead and I was trying to start it , it would make a clicking sound the kind of clicking that would indicate a dead battery and then it wouldn't turn on at all eventually after a few tries. So I charged the battery for a few hours and now it will turn on but when I go to fire it up it just makes a buzzing noise and doesn't crank or click at all but the battery is defintely all charged up. It's almost as though I just didn't connect something somewhere or maybe tripped a fuse or something along those lines but the positive and negative cables are connected I just don't know where to begin with fixing this problem ,

Use a Multimeter to gauge what's going on with the battery. It maybe time for a new one.

Your battery is likely dead, remove it again and take it to an auto parts store or the dealer for a "load test" to confirm.

Then buy a new battery.

An old battery can develop a surface charge but dies t have the amps available to turn the starter.

4 years is a good run on a battery.

As Cogswell said.

Welcome to the forum from central Texas.

As others have mentioned, you need a new battery. I'd love to get four years out of a battery but, here in the heat of Texas, I average about two to three years.

Let me save you the trouble of posting another "what is the best battery" thread... https://www.google.com/search?q=best...hrome&ie=UTF-8

Make sure you test the whole charging system, it’s no good to throw a brand new battery in there if there is another fault in the system.

That's what the Multimeter is used for.
