So I am looking at getting a street glide but not sure about the average mileage per year (if any) for a harley. Does anyone have an idea or a year to stay away from? Thanks

Welcome to the forum and Go Pack!

Anyway, maybe the mods will move this to General Chat where you may get more responses. You should be able to easily score a low mileage Street Glide. There's tons of them on Craigslist. Personally I would avoid 2017 and newer, but that's just me.

As vague as it sounds, it depends.... A maintained 30k bike is in better shape than a non-maintained 20k bike.. If you give us the year and price range your looking in, we can better answer the question

I am looking at 2016 with 27,500 miles. They are asking 18.5K. To me that sounds really good, but are miles too high for that year?

No, especially if it was well cared for. That's not even 800 miles a month. But if that bothers you I'm sure if you look around you can find several garage queens with next to no miles at all.

Sounds like they enjoyed it. Like UK said, it depends on how well it was maintained but I have to believe you can get a lower mileage one for that price. Or an older one with similar mileage for much less. I had my 2014 listed for $14,5k with loads of extras including tourpack and 34k miles and had only a few calls. I decided to keep it but when I did comparison shopping I saw a lot of 2014s, which are the same as a 2016, for not much more than I was asking and with hardly any miles.

The miles are not too high - I have 22,000. Depending on the model (base, Special, CVO), and what's been added, that price may be good, and may be high.

I'm fairly new to Harley too, but one dealer recommended going 2012 or newer, and every test ride I've had has confirmed that; clearly, that's not an issue with the bike you're looking at. The mileage doesn't look too high but, as others have said, you could almost certainly get one at a similar price with a lower mileage.

I would buy as new as you can, with as low mileage as you can. I would stay away from bikes that are 10 -15 yrs old and no mileage on them. Sitting is almost as bad as abuse mileage....
