Welcome to the forum from the east side of the big lake. Not to be smart but you do realize the touring bikes are a little heavy, they vibrate some, there's engine noise and there is a big heat plant between your legs that gets hot in the summer. Really, some new riders complain about those things, then bitch about it cause nobody told them about it before they bought a harley. The Street Glide a good bike, I think the price is a little high some S/G MSRP was just under $20K, maybe you can wheel and deal on the price.

That. I figure the reason my bike has lasted as long as it has is that it has never sat still for very long. Bikes that get ridden are usually maintained, and trouble spotted early on and attended to.

My 2013 has 33k miles and I change fluids and take care of issues regularly. I suggest keeping a note book and record all my service, repairs, maintenance, and accessories. This is a great help when looking at a used bike. It shows that the owner maintains and takes care of his bike. It also is proof of what has been done and how it has been treated. If I can't see service records and maintenance, then I am suspect on how the bike has been cared for. I would ask for service records!
and Welcome from Spartan Country Michigan!!!

Regular use and good maintenance is preferred to the alternatives.
Geography with respect ti mileage enters into the analysis matrix. Florida is different than Maine.

There are new 17 and 18s going for 21,000 now on the show room floor. HD flooded the market with used stuff so look around there should be some good buys out there.

HD didn't flood the market with used bikes. They flooded the market with new bike designs overt the past four years and the end result was a influx of used bikes as people traded in to get the new Rushmore and then M8 upgrades.

I wouldn't be worried about the miles, but 18.5 is way high. I've seen 2014-2016 with 10k miles or less for $15k ish. If the 16 you found is exactly what you want and could get it for $15-16 then go for it and don't worry about the miles. What ever you do, get a 2009 or newer. I have a 2013 with 20k on it and love it. Thought about selling to upgrade, but with the market the way it is I would be surprised if I got 12k for it.

Our local HD Dealer has about 10 of those listed for at or slightly above that price. So that price is at or slightly below retail. Something to consider...there seems to be a lot of them on the market. When inventory is high it becomes a buyer's market. See how fast this guy wants to sell his bike.
