Yeah engines in those are big headache, played with one for a guy in the 80's and it was a pain to find stuff then.

Several years ago my younger brother junked out a cosmetically decent, mechanically poor AMF vintage golf cart. He didn't tell me util too late. I show him local 'CraigsList' ads from time to time to remind him what a dummy he was....

Local golf course here had 7 or 8 of them. One Sunday me and a buddy went there to buy beer as we forgot to get it Saturday.

Guy at the golf course tells us that the beer's for those who come to play golf, but since it was a slow day for some reason of golfers, he told us if we'd take one of the carts and tour around the course to look at it so we could tell people about it, he'd sell us some beer.

Big mistake on his part. I don't know how he didn't see we were halfway lit, but we got in a cart and had a blast for about a half hour! We did burnouts in the grass, got it stuck in a ditch (luckily the things are light!), and basically were all over the place doing what we weren't supposed to do. The cart held up damn well and never quit on us, and that little motor is *quiet*.
