Default 1999 Electra glide ultra classic, solid wheel conversion

Hi everyone.
i own a 1999 Electra glide, striped down like a street glide.
It's a sweet old bike.
Now I have some Fatboy solid wheels I'd like to install.
Has anyone on here done this swap before?
The problem is the twin brakes.
Cheers.

I don't care what anyone says, Fat Boy wheels suck in a crosswind. I've owned a 2002 FB since it was new and I removed those wheels a long time ago.

I would have to agree. I still have those pretty chrome covers over the rotors on my Ultra (you know, the ones most people took off?) Even that is enough to play with the front end in a cross wind

Default Crosswind ?

Fir You guys riding in tornados. The front wheel catches as much wind as a spoke with a disc when riding . 2 Sq ft of solid wheel does nothing . It's the entire bike and the rider and even worse passenger that's pushing you over not a little bit of spinning solid round front wheel. The rear likely is bags swingarm sproket or pully and disc..get real on this

Say what you want. I'll take my years of experience riding these bikes over "get real on this" from a random stranger. Because you don't believe it, doesn't make it false.
Besides, this thread is from 2018. Were you that bored you had to dredge it up for your 10th post ever?

Sorry "chief". Got you in both years on earth and on motorcycles. No, the winds don't change. Bottom line is the whole thing is a different experience from one rider to the next. You're pretty much saying your opinion is right on this issue and anyone who disagrees with you on solid wheels is wrong. Life must be easy when you know it all.

I installed the solid fatboy rear wheel on a '98 Ultra. The only mod as I recall was a different FLH rotor (with the "tight" 5 hole bolt pattern as the Ultra's stock rotor had the wide bolt pattern.
