Ive said this a few times before, so I apologize for repeating myself. But...

I thought the new Fat Bob was the ugliest thing ever when they announced it. I was in shock. Ive owned an old Dyna, Road King, Street Glide and 2 Sportster 48s, so I considered myself a big fan of the “traditional” HD styles.

Wanted a new bike and test rode a couple. The Fat Bob won me over bigtime! I smile real big every time I ride it. Wouldn’t change a thing! Cant even imagine going back to a big, heavy, slow bike again. I even find the bike super comfortable!

In 6 months, I’ve never seen another one on the road. Not sure they’re selling many locally.

Now I don’t give two ***** what the geezers say about the bike. I LOVE IT!

”Geezer” is a state of mind. He he

Nice write up, thanks. I like seeing and hearing about these bikes. I'll never be owning one now that I am 63 but I still like seeing them. Wish I was 25 again. Now I need a dresser to haul all the crap I might need, "just in case". None the less, to each his own. I recall the time I took a Breakout for a test ride at the dealer demo days several years ago. "Oh boy, I get to ride one of the sporty Harleys!" You couldn't get me off that thing fast enough. But I assume most guys who buy them like them.

I haven't ridden any Harley newer than my '10 Fatbob. I tested when buying it against some softails of that era and it felt way better. Despite the dealer telling me the Fat Bob was the best handling Harley, it still drives like a barge compared to a real sport bike.

I doubt the newer softails are that much better. Having said that that's not the point of a Harley, and I quite like the new Fat Bob. I think my next Harley will be a street glide though.

I dont care how much fun it is. Ill take one for a test drive but ill never buy one. You dont see any on the road because im not alone on that sentiment. Ive never seen one outside a dealer.

And if you do test drive one, after the test drive we all would love to hear about it. I was a nay sayer too, but the ride did change my feeling about it.

10-4 but i can assure you my opinion on its looks will not change. No one told harley they had to make it that god awful. If i wanted a fun around town bike like what the bob is aimed at, it would be several other things id actually look at buying.

no one is asking you to change your opinion of its looks, just quit acting like everyone else on the planet agrees with you.

Actually, the reason you don’t see them, is that they are so new you just see the old time bikes. Every dealer I have been to has told me that all the best colors fly off the shelves and the usually only have the vivid black or Grey left. I’ve spoke with 2 other people who were actually riding them into the dealer who told me they just got back from a 5 hour ride from NY to VT. You must not be vsisting your dealers.
