I have to either take the kid to daycare, or pick him up, which requires my truck and carseat. I have to go out of my way to ride the bike to work. I still do it 2-3 times a week, but if it's raining I'm not going back home to get the bike. If I didn't have to do that, I might suit up and go even then. BUT I don't get to ride as much recreationally as I used to pre-kid, so I get it in where I can, even if it's just to and from work.

I ride every day I can. I'm good down to about 20 degrees it it isn't snowing. I felt the only way I could justify buying an expensive bike was to ride as much as possible. I have a 56 mile each way commute, and I'm certain I would not find 2 hours every day to ride otherwise. There are a lot of bikes in out lot when the weather is nice, but there are a whole lot more days when mine is the only bike out there.

i have mixed feelings about it. some days i feel like riding, some days i don't. i only ride when i feel like it. but i take crap from guys who ride every day regardless of the weather, blah blah blah. but my thought on it is i'm usually half awake and dragging *** to work so why put miles on the bike that i'm not enjoying? it seems like these guys are typically new to riding, and have something to prove. curious what anyone elses thoughts are.
That being said, I ride to work almost every day.

10 minute ride to work just so it can sit outside in the sun/rain and collect dust for 12 hours..... Very rarely do I ride to work unless I plan on going somewhere after. It’s just too much to be dealing with @ 4AM. I’m kinda on autopilot wake up get dressed throw food in a cooler and take off. When I ride my bike I gotta wake up early pull the bike out strap cooler down put on gear etc.

I enjoy riding to work and get at least 1 or 2 days a week in. My commute is the most beautiful I've ever had so that certainly helps a lot. It begins on a single lane through a bunch of horse ranches, down a winding mountain pass where it dumps out onto the Oxnard plain and farm after farm. The smells are wonderful and traffic is minimum. There was a period of time where I did not own a car for about 5 years so I rode every day, rain or shine. Some of that can get old after a while. Anyone who gives flack to a rider for not riding is a dipshit in my opinion.
