Yeah, another "who cares what anyone else thinks" type of question.
I ride to work when I want to, and I don't when I don't. I suggest the OP do the same.
Depends on weather and the dress code for the day. Some days I have to wear a suit....those are obviously out. Ditto if it’s raining cats and dogs. I don’t go looking for ways to make myself miserable. Fridays are usually the best day to ride to work, because we can wear jeans. Of course, even something enjoyable like riding to work is made a chore because of stupid DOD regulations when riding onto a military installation (full fingered gloves, boots, long sleeves, etc).
When my ride to work was 40 miles each way, I rode to work as much as possible so that I use the HOV lane. Now that I’m only 8 miles from work, I will do it occasionally.
Everyday its not raining and temperature is above 40 and no road muck. I have a 3 year run going of having ridden every month which is good for N Illinois. Love me some global warming.
