There are many that like to ride solo to get away from the crazy.

I don't understand why the OP is complaining about a decision he made
.You were not forced to marry her , were you?

Mine lost interest about ten years ago and that’s fine with me.

As a divorced single man (nearly 17 years) new interests get the same prerequisite speech: I ride. It's a major part of my lifestyle. If you're into it, that's fantastic and we will have some good times. If you're not, be prepared to spend days on your own, and we'll do our thing when I'm not riding.

I have found that most women that don't want to do it have had some kind of negative past experience with it that makes them afraid. Maybe a youthful boyfriend that took her for her first ride and felt he needed to show off, scaring her into "never again" status. Those that haven't tried it have really ended up loving it. I always make sure I explain the process and wade them into it with slower rides until they're comfortable with it. I've turned quite a few ladies in to biker believers. It does take some patience. Most of those ladies ended up enjoying the experience beyond any measure they thought possible.

I feel for you, brother. If she's cool with you getting the bike, get it. Any of us could be gone tomorrow.

My wife isn't overly keen on going for rides, but I do pick her up from work sometimes and show up with the bike. The more time she spends on the saddle, the more she is liking it. I've got her out on a couple of 4 hour trips and she loves the view now.

^^^^Well you know what they say, a wife who won't ride makes room for a girlfriend who will.

My wife was an ER nurse for many years. She called motorcycles "donorcycles". I started riding in 2004 when my youngest graduated high school. My wife wouldn't ride with me.

In 2010 she started asking to ride with me. She noticed all the happy couples riding 2up. I told her I needed a bigger bike, and that's when I bought my Ultra. We rode on several trips and she loved it. Now with grandkids and a dog she doesn't ride as much, but she still likes it.

Hang in there.

Me too. It's great. She's happy I like riding, just doesn't like it herself.

She also has no interest in stopping me from riding and no worries about how much I ride. I can take off on the bike for anywhere from a day to two weeks at at a time if I like.
