Default Was docking hardware included?

My wife is trading bikes, and because the dealership we are working through is not offering her anything for the accessories she has put on, I am taking them off. Well, when I took off the quick disconnect passenger backrest, I noticed the docking hardware and decided to take it off also. But now their is a big gap in the covers that go over the rear fender struts and I got to thinking that maybe the docking hardware came with this model. It is a 2014 Street Glide Special. Does anyone know if the rear docking hardware was included on this year model?

The bike didn't come from the factory with docking hardware. It was added later. Ask your dealer for the inserts (#25). They may have some take offs laying around.

I have added the 4 point and had to remove the insert pointed out above.

If you are trading it in I would not worry about it, the dealer most likely has them laying around and will just replace them before putting the bike up for sale.

Yes, they are from the factory. Unless my 17 was hijacked when I bought it new.

I have a 15 SGS, I had to purchase the docking hardware. It does not come on the bike from the factory.

Unless somebody bought their bike used and it already had the docking hardware installed, of course they had to buy and install it. OP is asking about the insert that needs to be removed to install and if he should worry about trading a bike minus the insert. Like said OP, don't sweat it.

Okay...thanks guys. I vaguely remembered taking out that insert when I put the docking hardware on. Sure enough, I walked out to the shop and laid my hands on them in less than two minutes. I think that is a record for finding something out there. I went ahead and put them in...more a favor for the next owner than a favor for the dealer.

Thanks again folks...this forum has been a godsend for me. I can't even guess how many times people have helped me out here. This is truly one of the real gems of the internet.
