In general I avoid all interstates. Much more fun riding any 2 lane. Usually in WI there is a 2 lane alternative.

Looks like Doc's will be a must see. Someone mentioned Iron Buffalo, that looks to be over an hour from downtown, is the food or place worth going that far for? based on google Doc's is only 40 minutes from downtown.

Also if we are going to either of these is Holy hill, Kettle Moraine or St Augustine roads close by? I tried to google Holy hill but it pulled up a church or something.

Thank you guy's for all of the help. I am looking forward to throwing that kickstand up and heading north next week.

When y'all get there, can you track down the designer of the FXDR and kick him in the nutz please?

The forum thanks you in advance.

A 100 mile day, isn't going to be much of day. You are not going to see much only going 50 miles from Milwaukee. Other than bar hopping.

As for Harley dealers, are they not all pretty much the same? Same junk. I have heard stuff to see at Docs. I have just been in the store for something. SE is boring, depending on your perspective.

Though it can be nice to jump on them for a short time, and getting somewhere

I woke up 2 weeks later from a coma, after riding a WI 2 lane road. Just a few feet from death. Plus stock behind cars and having pass.

Doc's HD is about 130 miles from downtown Milwaukee, it'll take longer than 40 minutes to get there.

Why limit to close to Milwaukee? Just want to sit in a bar all day? Unless you are familiar with WI might as well see it since you came this far. A bike is for riding.

As for Iron Buffalo you can go up I43 or Hwy 57, either way east west on county roads.

Over an hour cracks me up. Might as well just stay home. Keep the miles off your bike.

Northern Kettle Moraine is nice, there is marked route or just lots of county roads.

Western side of the state is more interestesting, 33 and 60 west of 94 and the roads between them. House on the Rock is something to see.

Could ride along lake MI between Port Washington and north of Manitowoc. Doesn't follow it the whole way though. On hot days I just keep cutting east. Not the greatest, but if you are not used to seeing big water, it can be interesting.

I am posting these more for someone who discovers this threads and wants to go more than 40 minutes though.
