Easy Off works well, but you have to keep it off everything except the chrome, I've left it on overnight, without any heat. Harley makes Boot Mark remover which works well too, again, I've left it on overnight, with a cotton cloth and plastic over it to keep it wet, then the material can be scraped off with a finger nail.

Had the same problem. Comes right off, no elbow grease required, polishes chrome besides. Quick-Glo works well enough, use it with that foam cone in a cordless drill. Before long you'll be polishing all your chrome with it. A little goes a long way, great stuff

Thanks for all the suggestions. Used carb cleaner on a rag and a razor blade (carefully). Had these handy. Looks brand new now. Found the heat resistant patches from Frog Tog. $4.99 each (plus shipping). Will get to that soon and use them as backup. Still like the FT jacket. Went to HD dealer early this PM and bought a new pair of $130 rain pants with suspenders and built-in heat protection fabric. Expensive, but may want to ride later this week (rain potential) to Indy (140 miles each way). Don't like the "booties" on the new pants, but they are removable. Boots are water-proof as I found on Sunday AM when I melted the FT pants.
